Aishwarya Pissay Triumphs FIM Bajas World Championship
As the FIM Bajas World Championship concluded, Aishwarya Pissay becomes the first-ever Indian to bag in the trophy with 65 points in Hungary. The final round held over the weekend witnessed the 23-year-old finish in the fourth position but the total of five special stages helped the young champion with a total of 588.26kms.
A total of 5 riders participated in the 2019 Bajas World Championship organized in Hungary and Pissay came in the fourth position securing crucial points for the overall victory. Pissay started by winning the Dubai Baja earlier this year which was followed by the third position in the second round held in Portugal. The champion then came at the fifth position in Spain Baja Aragon. The racer then stayed back in Europe training for the final round. Dubai Baja was the very first international rally of the young champion.
To put a cherry on top, the 23-year-old finished second in the FIM junior category on Sunday.
