BMW S1000RR, Behemoth to be Unleashed on June 27 in India
Unless you live under a rock, we’re sure you’ve heard of BMW or the Bavarian Motor Works, an independent German company with their hand in manufacturing automobiles and motorcycles, which is known for its speedy vehicles, in-built features, engine power, designs, and availability of options.
The globally popular brand is now all set to launch a new motorcycle in India. After a successful response for G 310 R, the company is going to introduce S1000RR in the Indian market. The launch will take place in Delhi on June 27 and it is a flagship motorcycle that has undergone a proper overhaul with cosmetics and mechanical updates. Though the motorcycle made its debut in 2018 at the EICMA event in Milan, India will witness an upgraded version with the first attraction being quirky asymmetrical headlamps replaced with sleek LED projector units. The company does not just limit to making minor changes, even the chassis gets a new fairing which is sleeker and more compact in dimensions. Results, you get better handling at the turns followed by increased speed and enhanced braking just with a simple change.
BMW is all about offering a different and unique customer experience which is why, the upgrades also include a full-color TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, shift assist, hill start assist and adjustable engine braking. But, driving experience can never meet the expectations of BMW fans until and unless they get a powerful engine with some thrilling speed that increases heartbeats. To make sure of it, the S1000RR features a newly developed 999cc inline-four engine with BMW ShiftCam Technology. A motor that is capable of producing 207Bhp power at 13500rpm and 113Nm torque at 11000rpm which is supported through a six-speed gearbox.
Globally, the BMW S1000RR is available in three trims, standard model, S1000RR and S1000RR with the M package. Now to know about the M package, you need to wait till tomorrow as the company reveals this product but one thing is for sure, none of the models would rank below the expectation level of the people. For now, the expected price for the standard model ranges between Rs. 18.05Lakhs and Rs. 20Lakhs. If the company launches the higher sport-spec variant, it is expected to range closer to the Rs. 25Lakhs mark.

The most famous and relied engine is the BMW G 310 R which starts at Rs. 2.99Lakhs. It is a 313cc engine naked sports motorcycle developed in collaboration with TVS motors, a renowned brand in the Indian market. It is a four-valve powered motorcycle with a liquid-cooled single cylinder engine. With a top speed of 150kmph, it is the lowest model of all the BMW motorcycle series. You can also avail its brother variant i.e. BMW G 310 GS.
