Bridgestone Oversees Rs. 350 Crore Expansion in India
Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd, a group company of Bridgestone Corporation and the world’s leading Tire and Rubber Company, inaugurated a major expansion over Rs. 350crore at its Indore plant at Kheda, Madhya Pradesh. The capacity of the Indore Plant will go up to 20,000 tires per day by 2020. The expansion has been enabled to meet the increased demands for the company’s products.
The inauguration of the plant was done by Mr. Vivek Porwal, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh, Industrial Development Corporation Ltd in the presence of Mr. Michio Harada, Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, and Mr. Akihiro Eto, COO, Bridgestone Corporation.
Contributing to the event, Mr. Parag Satpute, Managing Director, Bridgestone India said, “This expansion is our response to the trust and confidence of our OEM partners in our product offerings. Through this expansion, we also demonstrate our commitment to create value for a larger base of Indian consumers with our world-class quality. The plant is spread over 76 acres and will be capable of producing the entire Bridgestone India’s range of radial tires serving the passenger car segment. Strategically located close to the center of India, this plant has the logistic advantage of serving some crucial OEMs and aftermarket businesses for the passenger vehicle segment in the automotive sector.
