Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitipilen 401 to Launch in India by December

Bajaj Auto had earlier confirmed that they were going to launch the Husqvarna brand in India by the end of 2019, however the brand is yet to make any substantial announcements so far. But if a recent interview by Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto is to be believed, he announced that Svartpilen 401 and Vitipilen 401 will make their debut in the first week of December. There have been no reports regarding the bike launch after that, but India Bike Week 2019 is scheduled to take place in Goa on December 6 and 7, and we expect the bike to be launched by then.

Both the models are derived from KTM 390 Duke where Svartpilen 401 is a scrambler bike and Vitpilen 401 is a café racer. They will be powered by the same 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the Duke 390. They will generate 43hp along with 37nm of peak torque and will come paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Talking about KTM, it is going to make a massive presence at the upcoming India Bike Week, 2019 with its updated line-up display. KTM will also launch the much-awaited 390 Adventurer at the event. The company is planning to commence the delivery of the Svartpilen 401 and Vitipilen 401 soon after the launch by January 2020. The prices for both the vehicles are likely to fall close to the mark of Rs. 3 Lakh. The Husqvarna bikes are going to be manufactured at the Bajaj plant in Chakan. There will be no separate dealerships for these bikes, and they will be retailed from the existing KTM dealerships
