Hyundai Confirms Arrival of the Brand-New Sedan Aura
Hyundai Motor India confirmed that its upcoming sedan Aura will be powered by BS VI compliant petrol and diesel engines. The new powertrains deliver low vibrations, superior performance and high fuel efficiency offering cleaner emissions and efficient performance, the company said in a statement.
The new car will be available in three different BS-VI compliant engine options, which include a 1.2 Kappa Dual VTVT petrol motor and a 1.0 Turbo GDi petrol unit, while the diesel variant will get power from a 1.2 U2 CRDi fuel burner. The model will come with a BS VI turbo charged petrol engine. Aura would be available in both manual as well as automatic transmissions, as confirmed by the company.
The bigger petrol engine will come with both 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT, while the smaller turbocharged motor will get a 5-speed MT only. Additionally, the diesel engine will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT.
On the new launch, Hyundai stated, “Keeping in mind the need of new age customers and future emission norms in India, various amalgamations of petrol and diesel engines with manual and AMT transmission powertrains have been devised for customers to choose from”
Hyundai Aura is also said to sport Advanced NOx Trap Catalyst and PM filters to reduce the excessive environmental pollution and optimise ‘After Treatment System’ performance.
The South Korean automaker plans to launch the new sedan in the first quarter of 2020
