The much-awaited ‘First Electric SUV’ of India has been officially launched on July 9. The Hyundai Kona Electric SUV is priced at Rs. 25.30 lakhs (ex-showroom) and the suspense of this soon-to-be-launched version is finally over.

On the global platform, the car comes with two electric drivetrains – a 39.2 kWh and a 64 kWh battery version. India will get the smaller version i.e. 39.2 kWh version with a range of 452Kms. This version functions on a 100kW electric motor that generates a power output of 131bhp @ 395Nm of torque and requires 9.7 seconds for the vehicle to reach from 0-100kmph offering ultimate comfort.

It is a front-wheel driven 5-seater SUV with unique handling and exquisite performance. When you buy the vehicle, you also get three years of unlimited kilometer vehicle warranty and three years or 1.6 lakh kilometers battery warranty.

For an easy charging facility, Hyundai offers two chargers with Kona SUV, a 3-pin socket that can be used with a portable charger and a 7 kWh AC Wall Box Charger. The difference – portable charger gives power for 50 km under 3 hours and the DC charger powers up the vehicle up to 80% in just 57 minutes.
