Kia Seltos Decimates Several Other Cars in its Debut Month
South Korean car Manufacturer, Kia recently launched Seltos in the Indian market. In the very first month of its sales inception, the brand has outsold half a dozen foreign carmaker brands. Kia has also marked itself as the 7th largest carmaker in the country by selling over 6,200 units in August 2019.
Though the industry is going through a slowdown, experts believe that these dynamics can be a result of excitement around new launches.
Seltos was a major competitor against the recently launched Hector which performed pretty well by selling over 2,018 units in August 2019. The figure might not be a big one, but it is surely enough to help MG reach the 11th position among the total 14 brands.
In comparison, Seltos, Tata and Renault performed persuasively as well. With a total of 5,700 units, Renault stood on the 8th position and with 7,316 units Tata took the 6th place in the list. Whereas, Volkswagen and Nissan stood up against MG motor with a total of 2,300 units and 1,413 units respectively.
But this is just the start and there is a long way to go. We would like to remind you that Kia Seltos received a total booking of 32,000 units whereas MG Hector recorded 28,000 units during launch. The game is on and bringing out such a massive sales number in crucial times like these could mean that both the brands are looking at a great future in the Indian market.
