Lexus RX450hL, The Seven-Seater Version Of The RX450h Launches at Rs 99 Lakhs
Lexus has been a pioneer in the automobile segment that has brought many innovations in the market. This time around, it has forged ahead with its new launch Lexus RX 450hL which is priced at Rs 99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The fourth-generation model of the globally popular self-charging hybrid electric SUV, Lexus RX450hL is the seven-seater version of the RX450h which is already on sale in India.
The new RX450hL can be characterized by the extended length over the standard two-row RX with the floating roof to limit the visual bulk. The new seven-seater RX will be available for booking by October across the company’s dealerships.
Coming to the specifications, Lexus RX450hL is backed by a BS-VI compliant 3.5-litre engine with a self-charging hybrid engine. The V6 Atkinson Cycle engine sports a Dual VVT-i and advanced D-4S fuel injection system that offers excellent performance and impressive speed with good drivability, fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions.
Another big talking point of the new model is its elevated body rigidity. High tensile strength steel along with aluminum is used for construction purposes. Other things used are spot welds, body adhesives, laser screw welding to enhance the rigidity along with the overall steering response. The SUV also sports an Active Cornering Assist (ACA) and newly redesigned shock absorbers with new Friction Control Device (FCD), and all these lead to higher responsiveness.
Another standout feature includes a new touch-display screen. Even the smartphone usage is fused into the design, with a new phone holder and USB port, plus connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To add little something extra, the car also has voice control via native cloud connection or customers’ phones to Apple Siri or Google Assistant. Similarly, owners have the liberty to opt for either Lexus navigation or smartphone versions for navigating.
In respect to design, the new RX 450hL is adorned with L-shaped LED lamps with integrated LED DRL that delivers a signature Lexus arrowhead-shaped illumination. The advanced LED turn signal lamps lit sequentially from the inner side to the outside of the headlamps. LED lamps assimilated into the front bumper lower the power consumption while offering a bright beam, thus permitting finest visibility for safe driving during the night.
Speaking about the features and specifications, P B Venugopal, the President of Lexus India, remarked, “RX 450hL is a self-charging hybrid electric vehicle that offers luxury, space, quietness, craftsmanship and elevates the senses with every moment of the journey. The improved technology, design, and attractive pricing will surely make RX 450hL a desirable car for our discerning guests. We take the introduction of the new RX as our continued commitment to the Indian market and valued addition to our existing line of offerings.”
