Maruti Suzuki to Launch XL6, a Luxury Crossover Based on Ertiga
Maruti Suzuki is working on a luxury crossover vehicle with a name tag of Maruti Suzuki XL6. The crossover will be based on the Ertiga MPV and will be sold through its premium Nexa dealership network.
As per the reports so far, the body shell of the XL6 will be the same as of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga but with styling difference on the external side. The vehicle will be distinguished with sleeker headlamps that would feature daytime running lamps and a sleeker bumper with a new grille for stunning looks. The vehicle will be a six-seat vehicle unlike Ertiga which is a 7-seater vehicle but the company will focus more on the interiors of the vehicle rather than the exteriors.
The interiors will come with an all-black theme and six-seats installed. The middle row will sport two captain seats and the last row will feature a forward-facing bench with a seating capacity of two people. The vehicle will hit the market with two trim variants, Alpha and Zeta. The Alpha variant will feature some additional specifications like cruise control, reverse camera and leather seats.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will sport a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a start-stop hybrid system and will boast of a 5-speed manual transmission along with an option of 4-speed automatic transmission. Currently, the company has not revealed any price segment for the XL6 but it is expected to attract the buyers looking for luxury vehicles between 12Lakhs to 15Lakhs.
