Porsche Launches the $153,510 Electric Power House: Taycan

Porsche unveiled the production version of its fully electric sports car, the Taycan Turbo, the Taycan Turbo S & the Model S. The vehicle was launched on September 4 and will compete against Tesla’s Model S sedan. The vehicle is a perfect blend of power, speed, style, looks, and royalty.

Here are the features of Porsche Taycan:-

  • Performance

Both the trims are designed to sustain its performance in the longer run. The Model S can accelerate for 0-100kmph in just 2.4 seconds but as per Porsche, Taycan Turbo S can do the same in 2.6 seconds when compared in the performance trim. Whereas, in the long-range trim, Model S accelerates 0-100kmph in 3.7 seconds while Taycan Turbo takes three seconds.

  • Top Speed

Both the vehicles are well-equipped with all the essential power to touch lightning speed. Porsche has always been about power and speed customized in a compact aerodynamic body that can cut through air like a river between mountains. But what happens to all the speed when the vehicle functions like an electric vehicle.

Well, the company has made sure that the Taycan runs on a similar path without letting down the aspirations of the admirers. The Taycan Turbo and Turbo S both acquire a top speed of 259kmph while the performance trim for Model S reaches up to a top speed of 262kmph. Though, the long-range trim of Model S can reach a top speed of 249.4kmph. So, by this data Porsche has proved that it is never based on the energy source but it all about machinery and design.

Porsche Taycan Turbo and Turbo S are launched to compete against Tesla S sedan, which makes it very important for the vehicles to be top-notch so that they can outrun one of the finest in the industry. This means the vehicles are needed to be special in every trim.

  • Charging

Porsche Taycan Charging

This is the reason Porsche ensured speed even in the charging activity of the vehicles. The Taycan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S can charge from 5% to 80% in just 22.5 minutes and if you have time for a 5-minute charge, you can get around 62 miles without any problem.

After a fast-charging battery, powerful engine, and a sleek design, it is time for the range of vehicles. The Model S has a maximum range of 345-370 miles, Taycan Turbo S gets a range of 256 miles, and the Taycan Turbo gets a range of up to 280 miles.

  • Interiors

When it comes to Porsche, everything has to be classic. The interiors of all the trims prove that, as they offer optimum comfort and hassle-free driving. The Model S has a seating capacity of up to 5 adults whereas, Taycan Turbo and Turbo S can seat five in an optional seating configuration.

The Model S also gets 30 Cubic feet of storage space while the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S have 16 Cubic feet of storage space.

But the real fun of the vehicle starts when you enter the it. Both the vehicles are furnished with big screens instead of button and knobs. The Taycan Turbo and Turbo S come armed with a 16.8-inch digital instrumental panel, a 10.9-inch infotainment system, and an 8.4-inch touchpad right below the infotainment screen that consists of climate settings.

As for Model S, most of the interior settings are controlled through a 17-inch touchscreen. Porsche being a manufacturer of supercars does not provide the feature of autonomous driving but overall, the vehicle hides a real monster under a smooth layer of awe-inspiring architecture, probably the best from Porsche.

  • Price

The long-range trim for the Model S starts at $79,990 while the performance trim is settled at $99,990. The Taycan Turbo starts at $153,510 and the Taycan Turbo S starts at $187,610.
