Skoda Octavia Next-Gen to be Unveiled by November 11
The Skoda Octavia has always been a worthy choice in the luxury sedan segment for Indian consumers. But after six years of the vehicle maintaining its consistency in the market, it has now started to grow old in the eyes of consumers. To connect with their potential customers, Skoda was going to unveil the next-gen Octavia in the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, the plan wasn’t executed as expected. But now, as per new reports, Skoda will reveal the Octavia at a standalone event on November 11, 2019.
The next-gen Octavia will arrive with an updated version of Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform adding up to the performance of the vehicle on a higher margin, as compared to the outgoing model. With a slight change in styling, it will bring it in-line with Skoda’s new design language similar to the new Kamiq and Scala. The split headlight and grille design will also get some updates in the form of a traditional headlight layout compiled with a sleeker and wider grille.
The new Octavia will also sport a revamped interior that will include a two-spoke steering wheel among the major changes and a minimalist dashboard with a floating infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. The AC vents will be located in the new place, most probably under the infotainment system.
The next-gen Skoda Octavia will sport a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Once launched, new Skoda Octavia will compete against Honda Civic and the new Hyundai Elantra.
