Skoda Octavia Onyx: Entry-Level Launched for Rs. 19.99Lakh
Skoda India has launched a new entry-level trim for Octavia at Rs. 19.99Lakh for the petrol variant and Rs. 21.99Lakh for the diesel variant. The new trim dubbed, Onyx sports some fascinating features such as new 16-inch alloy finish in gloss black, gloss black ORVMs, black decals to the side, and a boot-mounted spoiler.
Inside, Octavia Onyx sports an all-black theme, a new SuperSport flat-bottomed steering wheel and black leather upholstery for the seats. The entry-level trim will be available in three colour options – Candy White, Corrida Red, and all-new Race Blue.
The two engine configurations in the new Octavia involve a 1.8-litre TSI engine and a 2.0-litre TDI motor. The petrol engine generates 180hp and 250Nm of torque while being paired to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the diesel engine variant produces 143hp and 320Nm of torque and comes paired to a 6-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Features of the Octavia Onyx are based on the Octavia Style variant that includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats, automatic LED headlamps with LED DRLs, automatic wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, and a cooled glovebox.
Safety features of the vehicle include six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESC, traction control, a rear parking camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Skoda Octavia Onyx will compete against the new Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla Altis, and Honda Civic.
