The Best of 2019 LA Motor Show that Can Come to India
The 2019 LA motor show is witnessing some really exciting and valuable releases. Brands like Tesla, Ford, and Audi are revealing some of their proud projects at this mighty motor show. All the major brands have revealed the products that are destined for the American markets but there are some cars among them that will probably make it to India.
Here is a list of cars that could possibly hit India’s shores.
Hyundai revealed the Vision T plug-in-hybrid SUV concept at the LA Motor Show. It looks a lot like the next-gen Hyundai Tucson SUV which will debut soon. The concept is hybrid based just like the next-gen Tucson and front-end looks similar as well. With futuristic styling, Vision T has grabbed a lot of eyeballs at this motor show.
Audi e-Tron Sportback
Audi e-Tron is expected to launch in India by the end of 2019 and the brand has already unveiled its all-electric SUV in India. LA Motor Show witnessed the unveiling of the e-Tron Sportback which is a higher-spec version of the all-electric SUV. Now, e-Tron Sportback may or may not come to India but the 95kWH battery pack-wearing e-Tron will definitely arrive here. It can complete 400kms in a single charge and is rated at 402hp and 664Nm of torque. Currently, there is no reveal on the price from Audi, but we expect the e-Tron to be priced somewhere between 1-1.5Crore.
Audi RS Q8
Audi has brought a new rival for the Lamborghini Urus! The RS Q8 has offered some serious power on the table. With 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the Audi RS Q8 generates 591Hp and 800Nm of torque. It completes 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds delivering a top speed of 250kmph. The brand will start the sale of the vehicle by mid-2020 and India will get this SUV priced at Rs. 1.01Crore.
KIA Seltos 2021
KIA unveiled the 2021 US-spec Seltos at the 2019 LA Auto Show and the SUV will get minor design change, 18-inch wheels and minor updates in the cabin that include a touchscreen, speedometer console and physical buttons for the infotainment system. Under the hood, it will feature a bigger 1.6-litre turbocharged T-GDI generating 174Hp and 265Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with 147Hp and 180Nm of torque. Looking at the response received by the brand for its first launch in India, it is expected that the Seltos 2021 will also launch in India.
Porsche Taycan 4S
The German Automobile maker, Porsche also didn’t hold back in the 2019 LA Auto Show. Porsche revealed the 2020 Taycan 4S during this Motor Show. Now, Taycan 4S top model may not come to India but the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S can hit the shores by mid-2020. As for Taycan 4S, the brand may launch the lower-spec version in India. It will sport a downsized 79.2kWH battery pack churning out 522Hp with a driving range of 463km.
Now, this is a creation from Porsche that has a lofty chance of coming to India. Under the hood, it gets a 2.9-litre V6 that produces 433Hp and 550Nm of torque. The car comes with a hefty package achieving a top speed of 270kmph and enough power to complete the 0-100kmph run in just 4.2 seconds.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
With an FWD drivetrain setup and chassis borrowed from the new 1 Series, BMW revealed the 2 Series Gran Coupe during the 2019 LA Auto Show. It will be offered in three powertrain options that include – 1.5-litre, 2.0-litre petrol, and 2.0-litre diesel engines. Depending upon the engine, sedan produces an output figure ranging from 138Hp to 301Hp. It will also get some top-shelf parts such as a Mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD), M Sport steering, M Sport brakes and launch control. BMW will most likely bring the 2 Series Gran Coupe to India by 2021.
GLE AMG & GLS AMG
GLE & GLS 63 AMG will feature a 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo engine churning out 602Hp and 850Nm of torque. Add on to the vehicles will be the 48-volt electric system that boosts the figures with high numbers. With such an effective system, both the SUVs will get an addition of 20Hp and 250Nm taking the combined torque output up to 1100Nm. It will come mated with an AMG Speedtronic 9-speed gearbox taking care of the transmission duties. With a top speed of 280kmph and 0-100kmph sprint timing of 4.1 seconds, GLS and GLE will be priced for Rs. 90.55Lakh and 78.95Lakh respectively.
