The Next-Gen Mahindra XUV500 Soon to Hit the Indian Market, Spotted Testing
Mahindra XUV500, the highest selling SUV from Mahindra & Mahindra has derived a great set of audiences for the brand. Now, Mahindra has initiated testing of the next-gen XUV500 and was spotted on the outskirts of Chennai near the Mahindra Research Valley. The next-gen model will probably get unveiled in the second half of 2020 along with several cosmetic and mechanical updates.
Mahindra & Mahindra have been completely dedicated to evolving their models to provide modernized technology to the consumers. With the same motive, XUV500 will get the new design with multiple design tweaks. The next-gen XUV500 will feature a more upright nose and a smaller front in the length, but with wide Mahindra family grille and smaller headlamps. It will also sport the Mahindra’s signature vertically placed daytime running lamps that debuted in XUV300.
On the sides, XUV500 will boast of crossover looks with new fender and doors similar to the first-gen model. The window line seems to be just like the ones in XUV300, Alturas G4 but the new model will not feature the Cheetah Claw door handles, which look attractive on the current model. At the back, the next-gen XUV500 gets a new tail lamp design.
After having a look at the Marazzo MPV, XUV500 is also expected to feature quality and soft-touch materials that include an advanced infotainment system with a high-resolution circle, comfortable leather seats, and spacious seating.
Under the hood, XUV500 will continue with the 180hp, 2.2-litre engine but will be compliant with the norms of Bharat Stage 6 emissions. There are reports of a smaller version of the same engine with 140hp to be used in the upcoming Scorpio and Thar. This engine is designed especially with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) that will help it pass the BS6 norms. The next-gen XUV500 will also bring you two choices of the gearbox – 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic.
With all these features inside a spacious and luxurious SUV, the car will surely melt the hearts of enthusiasts. Now, we just need to wait for the next-gen XUV500 to launch with a bunch of unrevealed surprises.
