Toyota Launches Glanza G MT at an Attractive Price of Rs. 6.98Lakhs
Toyota launched a more affordable version of Glanza with 1.2-litre, K12M engine on October 5. Before the launch of this vehicle, Toyota Glanza was only available in Smart Hybrid form with Suzuki’s 1.2-litre, K12N DualJet mild-hybrid powertrain.
The K12M engine of the Glanza G MT cuts its price by Rs. 24000 against Glanza G Smart Hybrid. It is notable that with the drop in prices, the new engine variant also drops mileage for the vehicle. The hybrid engine of Glanza has a fuel efficiency level of 23.87kmpl whereas, the new G MT variant has a fuel efficiency level of 21.01kmpl.
Glanza will now be available in two trims – G and V that are based on Baleno’s Zeta and Alpha trims. However, the DualJet Smart Hybrid engine is only available with the G MT variant and not with the top-spec V MT that comes only with the K12M engine.
Both the variants of Glanza are available with a BS6-compliant engine. The 1.2-litre, K12M engine generates 83hp and 113Nm of torque and the K12N DualJet engine with a mild-hybrid system produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque with the 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options.
From the inside, there are no changes in the K12M powered Glanza G MT. It gets the same automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver seat, a7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio control, push-button start & stop, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Glanza being the first product to emerge from the Toyota-Suzuki joint venture, there is a certain level expectation on this vehicle as it will go against Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, and the Ertiga.
