Volkswagen Launches Polo & Vento Facelift in India
After a long wait, Volkswagen launched Polo and Vento facelift with the latest features and minor changes in the body. Volkswagen had been considering the launch of facelifted Polo hatchback and Vento sedan for a long time. Both vehicles are included in some of the finest creations from the brand and with the facelifted versions, the premium-ness of these vehicles has gone up a notch.
Polo facelift looks a lot like its predecessors from the outside but gets some cosmetic changes such as the redesigned fascia taken from the GTI hot hatch. The twin chrome-slat grille also gets replaced by the honeycomb mesh grille and the read side gets restyled tail lamps and black trim in its bumper.
For the interiors, Polo gets a cooled glovebox, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, and automatic climate control. One of the main features that catch the attention is a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
The Vento facelift gets similar exterior changes like the Polo facelift with chrome strips at the front. On the front side, Vento gets a new set of LED headlamps and DRLs and the rear part of the vehicle remains almost unchanged apart from the restyled taillamps and black trim for its bumpers.
Vento also gets some classic features in the interiors that include cruise control, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, cooled glovebox and auto-levelling headlamps. Along with that, the Vento facelift also gets the touchscreen.
Both the vehicles are also loaded with basic safety kits such as dual airbags, ABS, ESP, auto-dimming IRVM, 3-point seatbelt setup, and front fog lamps. Vento being a sedan class vehicle, it gets an additional kit like front-side airbags and Hill-hold assist.
Under the hood, Polo is powered by the same petrol and diesel engines – 1.0-litre MPI petrol, 1.2-litre TSI turbo petrol and 1.5-litre motor in two states of tune. The 1.0-litre MPI petrol motor is capable of producing 76PS and 95Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre TSI turbo petrol delivers 104PS and 175Nm in the GT trim. Diesel options with 1.5-litre motor produce 96PS and 230Nm in regular trim and 110PS and 250Nm for GT trim.
For Vento, the brand offers 1.6-litre MPI petrol producing 105PS and 153Nm. The 1.2-litre TSI from the Polo delivers 104PS & 175Nm of torque whereas, the most powerful engine in Vento facelift, the 1.5-litre diesel churns out 110PS and 250Nm of torque. Both the vehicles carry a powerful engine source which is blended with a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox only in the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel (Vento) and the Polo GT trim.
The vehicles are all set to ride the streets with astonishing new looks and powerful engines. For the peeps waiting for these models, Polo is offered at a starting price of Rs. 5.82lakhs(ex-showroom) and Vento is available at an introductory price tag of Rs. 8.76lakhs(ex-showroom).
